Plaga gráfica / graphic card

E finalmente chegou a minha nova placa. Agora sempre que estiver a jogar no pc tenho direito a ter as opções todas ligadas e umas imagens muito mais bonitas. Ainda demorei muito a escolher a placa, mas agora já a tenho em casa e a funcionar. É claro que também há alguns elementos técnicos pendentes, mas isso com o tempo resolve-se. Resta agora tentar arranjar tempo livre para aproveitar o meu novo investimento.

E em relação ao meu curso finalmente já tenho tudo tratado. Já pedi o meu diploma e agora resta-me esperar que chegue a minha casa. O que segundo as previsões ainda demorará até 1 ano (espero que seja menos que isso).

Finalmente, e depois de um período de férias as actuações da Tuna vão começar. Fica já o aviso para determinadas famílias que vamos actuar à Lomba em breve (quem souber o que é está de parabéns!)

At last my new graphic card arrives. So now, anytime that I play with my pc I’m entitled to have all options on and some pretty images. I took a while to choose it, but now its already at my place and its working. Of course there are still some technical details pending, but with time they will be resolved. Now I just have to find some free time to enjoy my new investment.

Regarding my degree I finally took care of everything. I already asked for my diploma and now I just have to wait for it to get to my house. With according to forecasts it can take up to a year.

Finally, and after a holyday period the performances with my “Tuna” are about to begin. I leave the warning that those interested that we’re going to perform at “Lomba” soon (for those who know what that is my congratilations!).

Esquecidos / Forgoten

Tenho reparado que alguns pensamentos filosóficos têm estado presentes na cabeça. No entanto, quando chego em frente ao pc (que actualmente tem sido só no trabalho), o que queria escrever esvai-se. Conclusão, queria partilhar convosco umas visões sobre assuntos interessantíssimos e infelizmente não tem sido possível. Chega ao ponto de depois de um dia de trabalho nem me lembro sequer dos assuntos que queria falar. Bem a minha cabeça para essas coisas não está grande coisa.

Noutros assuntos a minha mãe faz anos hoje e por isso vai requerer mais atenção do que o costume. Devemos ir a algum lado jantar, para evitar a monotonia. :)
Mas vou para casa e ver se amanhã escrevo algo quando chegar ao trabalho!

I’ve been noticing that some philosophical thoughts are running trough my head. Even so, when I sit in from of the pc (that nowadays is only at work), all those thoughts just fade away. In the end, I can’t share the visions on important subjects. Moreover, after a day’s work I can’t even remember the subjects that I wanted to talk about. Well, my head isn’t that good for these kinds of things.

In other events, my mom’s birthday is today, so she will require more attention than usual. We’ll probably have dinner somewhere, just to avoid the monotony. :)
But I’m going hoe and try to see if tomorrow I write something as soon as I get to work.

Saudade / (To miss...)

Ultimamente tenho ouvido fados do grupo de fados. E depois de algum tempo começo a pensar na Saudade. Aquele sentimento tão português... Depois, lembrei-me de fazer uma deambulação sobre isso. Mas segunda de manhã não é um bom dia para isso... O motor ainda não arrancou e apesar de ter dormido bastante este fim-de-semana a capacidade de resposta é bastante reduzida. Será um tema que ficará para outro dia.

Agora pode-se dizer que começa outra temporada. Pelos vistos há o plano de ir passar um dia na neve este fim-de-semana. Mas suponho que isso só se decide lá para o fim da semana. Além disso a tuna já tem umas actuações para breve o que espero que também seja motivo de festa :D
Mas como estou muito lentinho vamos ver se mais logo escrevo algo com mais substância.

Lately I’ve been listening to “fados” form the “fados” group. And after some time I started to think about “Saudade” (to miss something). That really Portuguese felling... I then came with the idea of writing something about that. But Monday morning is not a good day for that... The engine hasn’t started yet and even though I slept a lot this weekend my response capability is still somewhat reduced. It will be a theme for some other day.

Now it can be said that another season starts. There’s a plan to go skiing this weekend. But I suppose that that will only be settled later this week. Also the “Tuna” has already some performances planned and I hope those are motives to celebrate.
But as I’m rather slow I’ll try to write something more substantial later.

Fados

Que fim-de-semana... passei estes dias na cama a tentar recuperar de uma gripe. Pode-se dizer que fiquei com os dias de descanso algo comprometidos. Ainda queria fazer algumas coisas mas no meu estado não era possível. Hoje, dia de trabalho, estou melhor, mas ainda não estou bem operacional. Logo não vou ter direito ao desejado treino. Vou para casa descansar para ver se isto passa.

Entretanto já vos disse que a minha viagem à neve está a ficar bem definida, agora o que falta é chegar Março para ir para a borga. De qualquer modo ainda tenho muito tempo pela frente.

Bem, tenho outro pseudo projecto nas mãos. Ir para o grupo de fados de Engenharia. É algo que não vai precisar de muito tempo (tipo um encontro por mês ou algo assim) e ia dar muito gozo. Até porque mais tarde ou mais cedo vai ser difícil estar com a tuna. (Embora espero que esse dia ainda esteja longe) Mas como sei como as coisas são não tardará a sentir mais ainda que “Sentes que o tempo acabou…”.
Mas toca a aproveitar o que de bom temos hoje. E amanhã é outro dia.

What a weekend...I spent it in bed trying to recover from the flu. You can say that my resting days were somewhat compromised. Today, a workday, I’m better, but I’m still not operational, at least not quite. Later, instead of going to my training I’ll go rest to see if this goes away.

Meanwhile, and as I already told you, my snow trip is getting well defined. Now all that’s left is to get to March and go have fun. Anyway I still have a lot of time ahead of me.

Well, I have another proto-project in mind. Join the “Fados” group of Engineering. It’s something that will not require a lot of time (like a meeting per month) and it would be a blast. Moreover, sooner or later it will be harder and harder for me to be with my “Tuna” (I hope that day is far away). But as I know how these things are I’ll soon be saying that “A time has ended...”
Even so I’ll enjoy the good things I have today. Tomorrow is another day.

PC novo / new PC

Depois de uma temporada sem dizer muito já tenho mais algumas novidades para contar. Aqui no trabalho finalmente tenho um pc novo. Apesar de já ser um portátil em 2ª sofreu algumas actualizações que já o tornam numa máquina muito mais apetecível. Finalmente posso dizer adeus à arrastadeira que diariamente punha a minha paciência à prova.
Livre! Estou livre! Bem mas não se preocupem que isto não é o início de um reclame de telemóveis ou algo similar.
Agora que esta transição está tratada espero retomar uma escrita mais assídua, mas isso é algo que só o dia corrente pode permitir.
Mas falando de outros assuntos a viagem à neve está-se a definir. Espero que hoje, o mais tardar amanhã que fique tudo tratado e pago e retratado (ou vou ter de vos encarcerar? – à guarda Serôdio). Falta saber ao certo se vão uns amigos Erasmus e algumas pessoas aqui da terra.
Ainda falta um bocado para essa semana de férias, mas estou mesmo ansioso. Se der ainda vou um dia para um sítio mais perto para ver se apanho o “felling”.

After a season without writing much I have some news to share. Here at work I finally have a new pc. Even though it’s in 2nd hand it had some upgrades that turn it in a much better work machine. Finally I can say goodbye to the snail that daily tested my patience. Free! I’m free! Well don’t worry this is not an add for cell phones or something similar.
Now that this transition is taken care of I’m hopping to resume a more often writing. But that is something that I can determine day by day.
N other subjects my snow trip is taking shape. I hope today, but not later than tomorrow, I take care of everything, pay everything and retake care of everything :) We just need to know if some Erasmus friends are going and some people from here.
It still some time to the trip but I’m quite anxious. If I can I’ll go to someplace nearer to try to get the felling.

tanto para fazer / so much to do

Tenho que admitir que não tenho escrito muito aqui no blog. Mas esta semana aqui no trabalho tem sido completamente maluca. Temos uma entrega para amanhã e ainda falta muito para fazer. Além disso, como ainda estou sem net e telefone em casa o meu contacto com o mundo está um bocado mais dificultado.
Além disso há outras coisas para tratar, como o tema de uma certa viagem, que tem de ser tratada com brevidade. No entanto o tempo não ajuda...
Bem vou esperar que o dia de hoje e amanhã corram de feição para adiantar todas estes elementos.

I have to admit that there hasn’t been too much writing here at the blog. But this week at work has been completely crazy. We have a delivery tomorrow and there’s still a lot left to do. Besides that, I’m still without net or telephone at home which has been making it difficult for me to contact with the rest of the world.
To add to my worries, there are also other things to take care of. Like a certain trip that must be taken care of very shortly. And as I can see, time isn’t helping...
Well I hope today and tomorrow go smoothly so that I manage to get on with all these variables.

Bom ano! / Happy New Year

O facto de estar sem telefone e Internet em casa dificultou a minha comunicação com o mundo. Assim acabei por não desejar aquele carinhoso voto de bom ano. Bem, mesmo assim espero que as festas tenham sido muito boas e que a diversão tenha sido em quantidades exageradas. Espero que este ano melhore muita coisa, mas quanto a isso temos de ver o que se irá passar nos próximos 365 dias. De qualquer modo fiquem bem!

The fact that I’m without telephone and Internet at home, made it difficult for me to communicate with the rest of the world. Therefore I ended up not giving that warm wish of a happy new year. Even so I hope that the parties we’re very good and that the fun was exaggerated. I hope that this year a lot of stuff improves, but that remains to be seen in the next 365 days. Anyway just hope you’re all right!
