Ultimamente tem sido algo difícil para escrever aqui no blog. Tenho tido muitas actuações e o trabalho tem apertado bastante e a consequência é que tenho escrito muito pouco. Mas para saberem o que tenho feito com a tuna podem visitar o site e ver o que se têm feito (tenho é de actualizar as notícias, hi hi).

Para o futuro próximo, ou seja, amanhã pelas 7 da manhã vou passar o fim-de-semana prolongado na Serra da Estrela em actividades radicais. E como vão ser uns dias promissores vou tirar fotos (bastantes) e depois partilho aqui as minhas actividades.
Mas como o trabalho é muito vou ser produtivo que o tempo não estica!

In the near future, that is tomorrow ah 7 a.m. I go and spend the weekend at “Estrela” (a high mountain of Portugal) doing some radical activities. And as it will be some promising days I’ll take photos (a lot) and share them.
But as work is a lot and time doesn’t stretch I’ll go on and be productive.

Páscoa / Easter
Ultimamente não tenho passado muito por aqui. O trabalho tem apertado bastante e o tempo livre escasseia. No entanto não partilhei aqui a viagem que tive com a tuna no fim-de-semana de 8 e 9 em Viana do Castelo. Foi para participar no Lethes.
Aproveitei que Viana não é longe do Porto e levei a família para ver a actuação. O teatro onde actuamos era muito castiço e foi uma actuação boa. O único problema foi o facto de ter de voltar para o Porto de carro e como tal não pude beber tudo o que queria.
Estes dias houve também as férias da Páscoa mas estas foram passadas a descansar e carregar baterias (embora acho que não fui muito bem sucedido nesse campo).
Lately I haven’t been around that much. Work has been intense and free time is not abundant. Even so I haven’t shared the trip I had with my “tuna” in the weekend of April 8th/9th in Viana do Castelo. We went to participate in Lethes.
I took the opportunity that Viana is not that far from Porto to take my family with me. The theater we performed in was really nice and the performance was also good. The only problem was the fact that I had to return to Porto by car. So I couldn’t drink what I wanted.
These days there was also Easter holydays witch were spent resting and recharging batteries (despite the fact I think I wasn’t very successful with that).

Torneio de kendo do porto 2006 / Porto kendo tournament 2006
No fim-de-semana de 1 de Abril tive um torneio de kendo aqui no Porto. Foi o meu segundo torneio de kendo e desta vez estava pronto a dar mais ainda do que vez anterior.
Acabei por não ficar muito mal na minha pool, também tive alguma sorte e acabei por ir aos oitavos de final.
No entanto o combate dos oitavos deparei-me com o kendoca que ganhou o torneio, logo não tive muitas hipóteses. Bem resta-me continuar a treinar para ficar melhor classificado no próximo torneio.
In the weekend of April 1st I had a kendo tournament here in Porto. It was my second kendo tournament and this time I was ready to be better than last time.
I ended up not being bad positioned in my pool, and with some luck I ended up getting to the eighth finals.
Even so in that fight I had against me the guy that ended up winning the tournament so I didn’t had any chance. Now all that’s left is for me to keep training and hope to be in a better position next tournament.

Tagides 2006
E no fim-de-semana de 25 e 26 de Março teve a minha ida a Lisboa com a tuna. Fomos lá participar no Tágides 2006. Já tínhamos participado no ano passado e este ano estivemos outra vez presentes. A viagem para lá foi demorada. Mas também ir para Lisboa de camioneta é sempre demorado. Na sexta à noite divertimo-nos bastante e no sábado lá actuamos. O festival tinha a concurso só tunas espanholas ... e nós. Mas foi uma grande actuação.
No final ganhamos vários prémios. Melhor pandeireta, melhor instrumental, melhor serenata (até fui eu que cantei e tudo, hi hi) e por fim a melhor tuna.
Pode-se dizer que com tudo foi um grande fim-de-semana. Até falamos para a televisão mas acho que a transmissão disso passou-me um bocado ao lado.
Finalmente viemos para o Porto. E essa viagem é que nunca mais acabava. Ao menos deu para dormir um para tentar recuperar as horas de sono que estiveram em falta.

Semana da Neve / Snow week
A semana da neve foi uma excelente altura. Passei uma semana com os amigos, os de perto e os de longe e diverti-me bastante. Fica só a nota que tenho pena que alguns não tenham podido ir, como a Mónica e o Xé.
A semana começou logo com a ida para o aeroporto, a qual teve o tradicional nervosismo materno. Mas depois de confraternizar com os pais e afins lá embarcamos.
A viagem foi na Ibéria e não foi nada de transcendente, primeiro a escala em Madrid e depois fomos para Genebra. Este segundo voo teve a grande vantagem de ter ido no fundo do avião ao lado do motor... que desespero. :P
A seguir veio a ligação a Tignes. No meio de muita neve e mau tempo lá fomos. Foram 3 horas longas, ainda para mais porque estava tudo cansado e porque a carrinha era bem desconfortável.
Bem mas passado um bom bocado chegamos ao destino e depois de umas voltas encontramos o sítio para levantar as chaves de casa. Logo para nossa surpresa fomos atendidos por um português. É mesmo caso para dizer que eles estão em todo o lado.
Os Erasmus deveriam chegar um bocado mais tarde. Infelizmente dado que estava muita neve ficaram presos e acabaram por ficar a dormir no carro durante a noite. Que desespero que foi.
No dia seguinte eles chegaram e tudo estava bem. Comprarmos os forfaits, alugamos o equipamento e bora lá para a neve. O primeiro dia teve logo o pormenor de estarem -18ºC e o risco de avalanche 4 em 5.
O resto da semana foi muito bom. Como seria de esperar passou a correr. No entanto ainda houve tempo para sairmos, jogar muito gamão. Ter gente a não aguentar a bebida e outras coisas que deram muita cor à semana.
Apesar de ser a minha primeira semana na neve aprendi muito, estou a andar bastante. É claro que isso só depois de passar os primeiros 2/3 dias a cair e a saborear a branca neve dos Alpes.
Bem mas foi uma semana bem rápida. A semana à muito esperada passou depressa. E espero que nos encontremos todos em breve, que provavelmente será no Chipre. Eh eh.
Mas podia ficar aqui a falar interminavelmente sobre isso, foi uma semana muito boa.
Agora quando cheguei tinha muita coisa para fazer mas está tudo controlado. Este fim-de-semana vou para Lisboa para um festival com a tuna. Ai borga a quanto obrigas...
The snow week was an excellent time. I spent it with friends, from near and far and I had lot’s of fun. I just regret that some people could not be there, such as Mónica and Xé. The week started with the trip to the airport, which had the traditional maternal nervousness. There was also time to talk with everyone’s parents and in the end we boarded the plane.
The trip wasn’t anything special, we went by Iberia and stop first in Madrid and finally in Geneve. The last flight had the enormous advantage that I was alongside the engine in the back of the plane. It was really despairing...
Then we had the transfer to Tignes. It was 3 long hours, specially because of the bad weather and the uncomfortable van. But after a while we managed to get there and found out the place to pick up the keys. To our surprise we had a Portuguese to take our call, we really are everywhere :)
The Erasmus guys should be there shortly but because of the snow they ended up being stuck and having to sleep in the car.
The next day they arrived and we went to buy the forfaits and the ski equipment.
The first day had the characteristic of being -18ºC and a risk of avalanche 4 out of 5. But the end of the week was really good, but it ended up going by very quickly.
Even so there was still time to go out, play a lot of backgammon... People not holding their liqueur. And other things that gave extra color to our week.
Even though it was my first snow week I managed to learn a lot. Well thanks to spending the first 2/3 days always falling and tasting the snow of the Alps.
It was a fast week. Even so we plan to meet soon and in Cyprus.
When I came back I had lots of work to do, but everything is under control now. This next weekend I’ll be off to Lisbon for a festival with the “Tuna”. Oh recklessness what you make me do...

Argh.....
Este fim-de-semana passado foi bem relaxante. Fui para longe da civilização, e com a companhia certa tive um merecido descanso. O grave problema deste tipo de actividades lúdicas é que passam sempre depressa. Por isso a sexta depressa se tornou em sábado e este mais depressa em domingo. No entanto fica na memória a tarde no banho turco e na sauna. É caso para dizer que fiquei com a pele bem limpinha.
Daqui a uns dias vem outra actividade lúdica que sei que também vai passar a correr. Vou finalmente nas minhas ter, entre outros, com os meus amigos de Erasmus. Vou passar uma semana no convívio e a esquiar.
No entanto nem só de sonhos vive o homem e como tal a realidade diz-me que há trabalho para fazer...
This last weekend was very relaxing. I was far from civilization and with the certain company I had one deserved rest. The serious problem of this type of joyful activities is that they always pass fast. Therefore Friday quickly became Saturday and this even more quickly turned to Sunday. However it will be good to remember the afternoon in the Turkish bath and sauna. I have to say that in the end my skin was really clean.
In a few days comes another joyful activity that I know that it also will pass in a flash. I’ll finally meet, among others, with my friends from Erasmus. I’ll spend a week in the conviviality and skiing. However as man lives not only of dreams, reality is telling me that I have work to do...
Daqui a uns dias vem outra actividade lúdica que sei que também vai passar a correr. Vou finalmente nas minhas ter, entre outros, com os meus amigos de Erasmus. Vou passar uma semana no convívio e a esquiar.

Aprender/Learn
Saíram as acções de formação que a empresa aprovou e este ano vou ter 3! Eh eh. É muito bom ver que a empresa que investir em mim. Duas delas vão ser em Lisboa e outra deve ser em Aveiro. Ainda não há datas, mas eventualmente dizem algo.
The list of courses that the company approved just came out. And this year I’m going to have 3! Eh eh. It’s good to see that the company is investing on me. To of them are going to be in Lisbon and another in Aveiro. There aren’t any dates yet, but eventually they’ll tell me something.

Saudável? / Healthy?
Finalmente depois de vários dias de cama estou a sentir-me melhor. Ainda tenho a garganta inoperacional. O que implica que cantorias estão fora de questão. Bem mas espero que isto se recomponha depressa porque cantar é um bem de primeira necessidade.
À conta destas enfermidades acabei por ficar em casa no Carnaval, o que custou, principalmente quando os amigos saíram e eu queria ir com eles. Mas espero agora não ter de dizer que não a mais convites.
Infelizmente estas férias de Carnaval foram curtas e o trabalho já se instalou na mente. Ao menos as minhas férias neve estão quase a chegar e antes disso ainda devo ir passear este fim-de-semana. E como é quase sexta-feira toca a trabalhar!
Finally after some days of bed I’m starting to feel me better. I still have a inoperational throat. What means that singing is out of the question. But I hope that it recuperates fast because singing is a first need commodity.
Because of these diseases I ended up staying at home during Carnival, what was quite annoying, mainly when friends had invited me and I wanted to go with them. But I hope that I don’t have to refuse any more invitations.
Unfortunately these holidays of Carnival were short and the work already installed itself in my mind. At least my snow vacations are almost here and before this I’ll still have a relaxed weekend. And as it’s almost Friday let’s work!

Gripe / Flu
Finalmente já descobri o que estava a causar a minha garganta dorida desde sexta passada. Ontem descambei de vez e com as dores musculares associadas cheguei à conclusão que estava com a gripe. O resultado foi ontem ter saído bem cedo do trabalho e enfiar-me na cama com umas aspirinas a acompanhar.
Apesar do descanso ainda não estou em pico de forma e hoje devo seguir o mesmo processo. Espero é amanhã já estar operacional porque isto de andar doente não dá com nada...
Finally I discovered what was causing my sore throat since last Friday. Yesterday I slide, and started having muscular aches, and got to the conclusion I had the flu. So left work really soon and got into bed with some aspirins.
Even though I rested I’m still not top notch so today the same procedure will probably follow. I hope that tomorrow I’m operational because being sick hasn’t any advantage...

Lomba
Este fim-de-semana teve uma excelente actividade. No Sábado à noite fui actuar à Lomba. Para quem não sabe o que isso é, é a Associação de Moradores da Lomba. Que, nos últimos anos, tem vindo a convidar-nos para umas pequenas grandes actuações.
Apesar da sala ser bem pequena o ambiente familiar é uma maravilha. E as bebidas ilimitadas à semelhança das balas num episódio do Esquadrão Classe A, também são muito bem vindas.
Com essa envolvente o resultado é uma noite em grande com muita alegria à mistura. No final estava bem feliz (sob todos os aspectos) e espero que para o ano tenha mais “lomba”, mas a ver vamos.
Além disso o fim-de-semana também teve a presença dos amigos, com a sessão tardia de sexta-feira. E que muito em breve terão mais perto de mim graças à nossa viagem da neve.

This weekend had an excellent activity. Saturday night I had a performance at “Lomba” (if you translate it literally its speed bump). For those that don’t know what it is, it’s the Resident Association of Lomba. In the last three years we have been invited for some big small performances.
Even though the room is small the atmosphere is quite family like. And the drinks being unlimited, just like the bullets in an “A Team” episode, is another positive point about it.
With that atmosphere the result is a full night with lots of joy. In the end I was quite happy (in all the senses of the word) and I hope that next year there is more “speed bumps”, but we shall see.
Besides that the weekend also had the presence of my friends, with a late night cinema session. And very soon I’ll be closer to them thanks to our snow trip.

Problemas no carro / Car problems
Estou triste. O meu carro está com problemas. O mais chato é que são problemas eléctricos. O que me vale é que está na garantia. Agora quando ia para casa almoçar os piscas começaram a comportar-se de modo esquisito. E agora até fechar o carro é um desafio. Tenho de ver se amanhã já dá para ir para a oficina para me resolverem isto rapidamente.
Com isto fico agora com um peso em cima, mas isto há de passar.
I’m sad. My car has some problems. And the most annoying thing is that it’s electrical problems. What eases my mind is that it still has warranty. When I was going home to have lunch the turn lights started behaving in a strange way. Now even closing the car is a challenge. I have to see if tomorrow I send it to the workshop to get it fixed as soon as possible.
As a result I have a cloud hanging over my head, but it will pass.
Com isto fico agora com um peso em cima, mas isto há de passar.

Neve / Snow
Apesar do atraso deste post venho para aqui contar o que fiz este fim-de-semana passado.
Pode-se começar por dizer que acordei a uma linda hora. Às 5:30 da manhã de Sábado estava a levantar-me da cama. E note-se o levantar e não deitar. O motivo foi que ia passar um dia com os amigos a esquiar na Serra da Estrela.
Depois de me arranjar apanhei a boleia e 3 horas depois chegamos ao local desejado.
O tempo estava bastante bom, sem nuvens e com um sol agradável. Tratamos logo de ir alugar o equipamento necessário e lá fui no meu baptismo de neve. Na verdade foi a primeira vez que tive tanta neve ao pé de mim. E a primeira vez que esquiei.
Com as instruções do Sérgio (o irmão do Tiago) eu e a Ana (que também se estava a estrear) lá demos os primeiros passos. Depois de fazermos umas pistas verdes (as mais fáceis) fomos para uma azul.
Tenho a dizer que chegar ao fim da pista azul foi uma pequena aventura, seguida das cadeiras. Mas a verdadeira aventura começou quando comecei a descer a pista azul. Ora como não sabia travar nem virar só me restava uma coisa: ir sempre em frente.
Pode-se dizer que durante essas descidas a adrenalina esteve a bombar. O resultado foi atirar-me para o chão quando já estava a andar mais depressa que um carro (hi hi acho eu ;) ).
No entanto ao longo do dia fui melhorando e antes de ir embora já descia as azuis com alguma facilidade. Pode-se dizer que foi um grande dia :D É claro que quanto a fotos e afins ainda não tenho porque eu não levei máquina. Mas estou a contar que ainda hoje arranje provas, que depois vão para o sítio do costume.
Beside the lateness of this post I’m here to report what I did this last weekend.
I can start saying that I woke up at a beautiful hour. At 5:30a.m. of Saturday I was getting up. Focus on the getting up and not laying down. The motive was that I was going to spend a day with my friends skiing at “Estrela” (the highest mountain in Portugal).
After I got ready I hitched a ride and 3 hours later we got to the desired location.
The weather was really good, no clouds and pleasant sun. We went right away to rent some equipment and there I was for my snow baptism. To tell the truth it was the first time I saw so much snow up close. And the first time I skied.
With Sergio instructions (Tiago’s brother) me and Ana (that was also a first timer) did our first steps. After we did some green courses (the easiest) we went to a blue.
I have to say that getting to the end of it was a small adventure, followed by the chairs. But the real adventure started when I started coming down the blue course. Well I didn’t knew how to brake or how to turn so all that was left was to go straight ahead.
You can say adrenaline was pumping. The result was throwing myself to the ground when I was going to faster than a car (eh eh I think ;) ).
Anyway through out the day I improved a lot and before I went home I managed to do the blue courses with some ease. It was a great day :D Of course there are photos but because I didn’t take my machine I still haven’t got any. But I’ll try to get them today.

Plaga gráfica / graphic card
E finalmente chegou a minha nova placa. Agora sempre que estiver a jogar no pc tenho direito a ter as opções todas ligadas e umas imagens muito mais bonitas. Ainda demorei muito a escolher a placa, mas agora já a tenho em casa e a funcionar. É claro que também há alguns elementos técnicos pendentes, mas isso com o tempo resolve-se. Resta agora tentar arranjar tempo livre para aproveitar o meu novo investimento.
E em relação ao meu curso finalmente já tenho tudo tratado. Já pedi o meu diploma e agora resta-me esperar que chegue a minha casa. O que segundo as previsões ainda demorará até 1 ano (espero que seja menos que isso).
Finalmente, e depois de um período de férias as actuações da Tuna vão começar. Fica já o aviso para determinadas famílias que vamos actuar à Lomba em breve (quem souber o que é está de parabéns!)
At last my new graphic card arrives. So now, anytime that I play with my pc I’m entitled to have all options on and some pretty images. I took a while to choose it, but now its already at my place and its working. Of course there are still some technical details pending, but with time they will be resolved. Now I just have to find some free time to enjoy my new investment.
Regarding my degree I finally took care of everything. I already asked for my diploma and now I just have to wait for it to get to my house. With according to forecasts it can take up to a year.
Finally, and after a holyday period the performances with my “Tuna” are about to begin. I leave the warning that those interested that we’re going to perform at “Lomba” soon (for those who know what that is my congratilations!).
