Veio depressa e mais depressa passou este natal. Acho que o facto de estar a trabalhar quer antes quer depois fez com que a altura se esvanecesse mais depressa. Realmente é a primeira vez que tenho um natal como ... trabalhador. Acho que faltam as férias e aquele descanso que sempre tive.
O último natal serviu de intervalo na minha estadia na Dinamarca e teve um sabor bem especial. No entanto acho que me falta alguma coisa. Se calhar é não conseguir passar o tempo que queria com os amigos e afins. Bem acho que falta alguma coisa.

Apesar de tudo, e como não podia deixar de ser as festividades tiveram muitos doces e muitas prendas. Acho que me devo ter esquecido de falar a alguém para desejar as boas festas, mas acho que estou já conformado com a minha condição de esquecido :P Pelo menos para estas coisas. Mas se foste um dos premiados com o meu esquecimento, não te preocupes que lembro-me sempre dos amigos! Agora das datas e afins é que é mais difícil. Eu no fundo esmero-me quando a malta precisa de ajuda. Nessas alturas estou logo lá (acho).

Agora o ano novo está a chegar e espero ter a oportunidade de passar uma mega noite com os amigos. É claro que plano não há, mas se calhar é preciso começar a pensar nisso...

It came and went quickly this Christmas. I think it’s the fact that I’m working before and after Christmas that makes time fly. Thinking about it it’s the first time I spend a Christmas in the “working state”. I think what I miss is the rest and the holidays I always had.
Last Christmas was a break in my stay in Denmark. And everything had a very special flavor. Nevertheless there is something missing. Maybe it’s not being able to spend time with my friends and so on. Something’s missing...

But carrying on, the festivities had lots of sweets and presents. Also I might have neglected someone in my merry Christmas messages. But I’m aware of my “hollow head” for these things. But if you were forgotten don’t worry! Dates and things I can never memorize but when I’m needed I’m always there (I think).

Regarding the New Year I hope I have the opportunity to spend a mega night with my friends. There’s no plan, but we better start thinking about it...

O natal está mesmo à porta. E como é uma época muito importante para muitos ficam aqui os meus desejos que tenhamos um excelente natal e um fantástico ano novo.

Natal / Christmas

Apesar de uma ida falhada (ou não ida melhor dizendo) já se traçam planos para uma futura viagem, a qual se espera que tenha neve q.b. e muita animação. Agora resta-nos realizar muitas conversações para vermos quando vamos e para onde vamos.

Mas muito mais perto já está o natal. E apesar de estar a trabalhar antes e depois o fim-de-semana que se avizinha promete ser muito acolhedor. Acima de tudo espero descansar e estar com a família. É claro que só na altura é que sei o que vai acontecer mas até lá só há positivismos.

Depois também me tenho de lembrar que logo a seguir terei a passagem de ano. Que mais uma vez não tem nada planeado, mas que espero que se faça uma grade festa. Ou pelo menos uma noite em grande.

Entretanto vou ver se acabo hoje o módulo que estou a fazer para a Uso, quer dizer... também só falta testar. :)

Even though the snow trip was a failed attempt there are already plans in motion for a future trip. And for that trip a lot of snow and fun is expected. Now all that’s left is to start the negotiations to see where and when we are going.

But much closer than that is Christmas. And the fact that I’m working before and after that weekend it still looks like a promising time. I expect to rest a lot and to spend the time with my family. Of course I still don’t know how the weekend is going to be, but until then there are only positive thoughts.

After that there is always the New Year’s party. But as tradition proves there are still no plans. I just hope it will be a great party, or at least a great night.

Meanwhile I’ll try to finish today the module I’m doing for Uzo (a mobile operator)... I mean ... at least all that’s left is to test it. :)

Sem neve / Without snow

A minha curta viagem à neve deste Sábado está cancelada, quer dizer, podia-se fazer uma viagem à relva que infelizmente parece que é a única coisa que há nesta altura. Bem espero é que tenha uma nova oportunidade de ir com a malta em breve. Estava todo entusiasmado para ir mas as minhas esperanças foram goradas.
Bem, resta-me acabar o trabalho que tenho a fazer. Este módulo que tenho estado a fazer está mesmo a acabar. E apesar do cansaço vou por as mãos à obra.

My short snow trip for this Saturday is cancelled. Well I could do a grass trip that is unfortunately the only thing that’s there at this time. I just hope I have the opportunity to go with the guys soon. I was really excited to go but my hopes just fell to the ground.
All that’s left is to finish the work I’ve been doing. This module is almost at the end. So even though I rather tired I’ll get to it.
Here I go.

Serenata ao luar / Moonligth serenade

O dia de ontem teve a tuna a fazer uma serenata em Vila do Conde. O grupo foi para o local e depois de uns prévios aquecimentos tratamos de chamar a donzela. Ela gostou e pode-se dizer que os mirones não impediram que o ambiente se desfizesse. No fim juntamo-nos em redor de algum néctar (vinho do Porto para os mais distraídos) e apreciamos a noite.

E como se vê até tenho feito mais algumas coisas para além do trabalho. Há que encher os dias e alegrar a malta. Para o futuro próximo tenho uma potencial ida para a neve já este fim-de-semana. Vamos para a serra da Estrela esquiar (espero eu!). Espero que seja um estágio para descobrir as manhas destes desportos de Inverno. Isto para quando for para os Alpes com os amigos já ter algumas luzes.

Para rematar, e com o natal está a chegar fiquem sabendo que já comprei as minhas prendas. Portanto já não me preciso de preocupar com o que vou dar à família. Agora que o dinheiro está gasto tenho é que começar a juntar dinheiro para os meus próximos projectos.

Yesterday the “Tuna” did a serenade in Vila do Conde. The group went to the scene and after a little warming up we called the maiden. She liked it and you can say that not even the bystanders prevented the mood to fade away. In the end we gathered around some nectar (for those who are distracted I mean Port wine) and we enjoyed the night.

So, I’ve been doing some things besides work. I have to fill my days and put a smile on the guys. In the near future there is also a potential snow trip this weekend. We’re going to go to mount “Estrela” (the biggest here in Portugal). I hope it will be an internship to prepare myself for these winter sports. I have to be ready when I go to the Alps with my friends.

And to finish, and as Christmas is upon us I already bought all my gifts. So the family doesn’t need to worry. So now that I’ve spent my money I must gather more for my next projects.

Países / Countries

E para saberem que me anda a visitar fica aqui um pequeno quadro do panorama internacional. No entanto tenho a dizer que falta aparecer aqui países como a Grécia, o Chipre, a Itália...bem tenho de falar com os intervenientes para ver se eles aparecem cá. No entanto hoje não me extendo muito porque o trabalho obriga-me a ter pouco tempo livre.

And so that you know who's visiting the blog, here stays a little picture to show the international oversight. Even so there are some things missing, such as countries as Greece, Cyprus and Italy... I have to talk with the people involved to see if they show up. In the meantime I must go back to work as free time hasn't been a commodity.

O Engenheiro / The Engineer

Depois de muitas tribulações, excelentes momentos e outros menos bons que tive nos últimos 5 anos finalmente acabei a minha licenciatura. Foi na passada terça-feira que depois de apresentar o meu projecto de estágio que concluí o ultimo passo desta fase da minha vida.
A apresentação teve bastante preparação, mas quando chegou a altura de apresentar acho que a fiz mais depressa que devia. No entanto os membros do júri gostaram e isso é o que importa.
As apreciações que se seguiram tiveram o seu ponto alto:

Presidente do Júri: “O seu relatório é sucinto e isso é um ponto de louvar e bastante positivo”
Membro do Júri: “O relatório podia ser um pouco mais extenso...”
Momentos depois...
Presidente do Júri: “Argh...bem....o relatório podia ser um pouco mais extenso...”

Alguém nota algum padrão curioso? ;)
No final e feitas as contas acabo o meu curso com uma boa média e fico bem feliz por isso :D Agora sim já sou um Sr. Eng.

After many troublesome times, excellent moments and others not so good, and after 5 years I finally finished my degree. It was last Tuesday after I present my final project that I concluded the last step of this stage.
I prepared quite well the presentation. But when the time came to do it I think I was too quick. Even so, the members of the jury liked it and that’s what’s important.
Their opinions had a high point witch I must share with you:

President of the jury: “Your report is brief and that’s something positive and to praise.”
Member of the jury: “The report should be a little bigger…”
Moments later...
President of the jury: “Argh...well...the report could be a little bigger...”

Does someone notice a strange pattern?
In the end I finished my degree with a good average and that makes me very happy. :D And now I’m a real Engineer.

Acontecimentos / Events

Este fim-de-semana passado teve várias actividades. Primeiro fui com os pais e o irmão passar uns dias longe da cidade. Andamos a pé a subir os montes :) No entanto isto foi quinta e sexta.
O fim-de-semana propriamente dito foi passado com as gravações do CD da tuna. As gravações ficaram todas feitas e resta agora tratar de equalizações e aspecto gráfico do CD.
Bem mas isto está muito resumido por um motivo muito simples, daqui a umas horas vou apresentar o meu projecto de estágio e depois serei um engenheiro! Não estou nervoso, diga-se cansado (depois de uma noite a preparar bem a apresentação) mas o dia ainda vai ser longo. Vou-me...

This weekend was spent in several activities. First I went, with my parents and brother, to enjoy some days away from the city. We went to do some trekking :) Even so this was Thursday and Friday.
The weekend itself was spent with the recording for the “tuna” CD. All the recording was finished and now all that’s left is to take care of the equalization and graphical appearance of the CD.
Well, this is all quite short for a very simple motive. In a few hours I’m going to do my final presentation and then I’ll be an engineer! I’m not nervous, mostly tired (after a night preparing the presentation), but the day is still going to be long. I’m going...

Simulacro / Simulacrum

Esta quarta-feira realizaram um simulacro aqui na PT. Lá foi toda a empresa para a rua enquanto as sirenes soavam pelos corredores. O exercício deu para ver que numa situação de emergência muito provavelmente ninguém seguiria as indicações e o pânico seria generalizado. Mas o dia não foi para isso. Ao fim de contas ficaram 500 pessoas a olhar para o prédio durante 30 minutos. Embora uns esperassem menos :) eh eh.

This Wednesday a simulacrum was done here at PT. All the company went to the street while the sirens echoed through the hallways. The exercise showed that in a real emergency situation most probably none of the people would follow instructions and panic would be generalized. But the day wasn’t for that. In the end 500 people stayed looking at the building for 30 minutes. Even though some waited less than that :) eh eh
